Description

This 6-week series will cover everything you need to know to keep your bike tuned up and running smoothly all Winter long. You will learn to overhaul bearings, true wheels, adjust brakes, replace brake pads and cables, and adjust shifters and derailleurs. You'll also learn how to best equip you and your bike for Winter riding in the cold, wet and dark. Class 3 will cover freewheel/cassette removal and installation as well as overhauling front and rear hubs.

West Town Bikes will provide the workstands and tools. Participants must provide their own project bikes, and any other replacement parts needed, which may be purchased before-hand at our sales shop, Ciclo Urbano. Storage space will not be provided--you must take your bike with you at the end of each class. Your bike will be in better working order than it rolled in at the end of each night.

Michael Young (michael@westtownbikes.org)

Check with instructor if space is available for participation in individual classes after the first class. If space is available individual classes may be participated in at a pro-rate of $30 per class.

Participants must contact WTB Instructor, Michael Young, at michael@westtownbikes.org to arrange enrollment in this class. Enrollment will be secured with payment. Suggested base donation for this class is $150 (or more, additional donations go to supporting community programs at WTB). Space is limited, so contact Mikey soon!

You should contact Mikey and make arrangements to be part. I'm pretty sure there's open space and classes in the Tune-Up classes can be taken as a course or individually.
