Uptown United and Bike Uptown will co-sponsor a leisurely bicycle tour starting on Sunday, June 9, 1:00 p.m., at the Bronco Billy Park, 4437 N Magnolia to see Uptown’s Ten Thousand Ripples emerging Buddha sculptures and end at the Pivot Arts Festival at 1050 W. Wilson.
The emerging Buddha sculptures are part of Ten Thousand Ripples, a collaborative public art, civic engagement and peace project. Uptown is one of 10 Chicago neighborhoods that are displaying a total of 100 Buddha sculptures which are designed as symbols of peace and community-building.
The bicycle tour will end at the old TCF Bank Building, 1050 W Wilson, for Pivot’s Multi-Arts Festival that will feature the spirit of the vaudeville era through unique performances in historic spaces. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
