Join us on Sunday, September 29, 2013 for the Annual Bike the Ridge ride! Ridge Avenue will be closed to ALL vehicular traffic between Howard and Church Streets.

bike the ridgeBicycles are not allowed on Ridge Avenue at any other time, so come out and enjoy this non-competitive, City-sponsored special event!

The September 29, 2013 ride will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Ridge Avenue will be closed to ALL vehicular traffic  from Howard to Church Streets. This event is limited to those on non-motorized bicycles only (motorized bicycles or skateboards are not allowed).

BikeTheRidgeKickoff_web0694.jpgYou are invited to join the official start of the ride at 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Ridge Avenue and Howard Street. You may bike Ridge Avenue from Howard Street to Church Street and back again or anywhere in the middle. Children under age 18 are required to wear bike helmets per City of Evanston ordinance.

Ride in Style

Children are encouraged to decorate their bicycles in advance and then show them off.

Ridgeville Park District’s Fall Frenzy with performances by School of Rock and Sweet Molly Seven 10am & 11am Family Yoga Classes at Grey Park, Ridge at Main (thanks to Heaven Meets Earth Yoga Studio) 
Bike repairs (thanks to the Bike Doc) Free snacks and water (thanks to McGaw YMCA and Whole Foods Market/Evanston South)
Presence Saint Francis Hospital will provide information about healthy eating; a physical therapist will demonstrate exercises for keeping healthy. Enter their raffle for great travel salad bowls. Bike registration and bike lights
Bike decorating (thanks to Wheel & Sprocket) Food Trucks (cash only): Hummingbird Kitchen, Krave Ice Cream’s hot dog & ice cream carts, Babycakes, Taquero Fusion and NUHS Lemonade Truck
Stretching/Massage Tent (thanks to Wellness Revolution) Bike bells (thanks to The Pony Shop) 
Donate used bikes (thanks to The Recyclery) Tap Water Station (thanks to The City of Evanston)
