The Village of Homewood celebrates its bicycling culture with two free events on Sunday, July 7, 2013. The day kicks off with "Bike the Dixie", a five-mile route for cyclists of all ages and abilities to explore Homewood from 8 to 11 a.m. Cyclists can enjoy a one-mile, car-free section of the route in the downtown Homewood area which will later become the racecourse for "The Downtown Homewood Classic". "Bike the Dixie" continues in a 5-mile loop through the neighborhoods. The starting point for "Bike the Dixie" is at the corner of Dixie Highway and Hickory.
