Big Marsh Opening Ride, Opening Day

Please join Friends of Big Marsh for the opening of Big Marsh Park. Explore and hike Chicago's newest park, while observing reestablished native flora and a protected hemi-marsh, and ride the newly completed bike park. Throughout the day Friends of Big Marsh, REI, and Chicago Park District will be sharing the unique natural history of the Calumet Region as well as the parks connection to big steel.

There are two planned bike rides to the Big Marsh Opening Day activities. They will be departing from APRPPM, 10406 S Maryland Ave and Ald. Garzas Office, 10500 S Ewing Ave. People will start gathering at 9:30 and both rides will leave at 10:15 for Big Marsh.

Big Marsh Bike Park will be open to the public starting at Noon, with tours and loaner bikes available until 2 p.m. The park will be open daily after Sunday from dawn to dusk.
