This is a moderately challenging 400k from Barrington with a few hills at the start. We head up to just near Woodstock before heading to Wisconsin and looping up through Milton and New Glarus. Once you get to New Glarus, you can take the Sugar River Trail if you don’t mind a gravel/hard-pack trail (the GPS takes the roads) to Brodhead. From there we head back but cross through Rockton and take a very short section of the Long Prairie Trail from Calendonia to Long Prairie. From there we head through Marengo (24-hour Shell) and back to Barrington. This is an official PBP qualifier.
Parking is free at the METRA Station. The finish is located at Starbucks down the street.
For your safety, we require a helmet, lights, and reflective gear. You will be riding for some time in the dark. The start is the Barrington METRA Stop providing both free parking and an alternative way to get home. Check the train schedule carefully if you intend to ride.
Please review the Great Lakes Ultra Cycling website for complete information about our club, how to join, and to register for the rides.
