Description

My first long ride of the season, last year, was to this location and was also in March, although a bit earlier.

Meeting point:

  • 9:00 AM at Clark and Lake CTA station to take the Blue line to Forest Park then ride the IPP to Aurora and drink and eat lunch at Two Brothers Roundhouse. We will leave no later than 9:15 on the Blue Line toward Forest Park
  • 10:30 AM at Forest Park Blue Line station
  • If you are riding all the way from the city, then please make sure you make one of the above meeting point.
  • Call/Text me if you're running behind

We'll bring back some brews and take the Metra back.

Bring water and snacks for the trip there and also maybe a jacket to keep you dry and warm.

Route:

The first choice is to take the Illinois Prairie Path.

The second choice of travel is to use a proposed paved route.

F*k Winter & Eat Bacon: If folks are amenable  I think I can trick AA in grillin' in my backyard B4 the ride - say 8ish?

That works. I prefer to ride it all the way too, but some might not be so inclined. If the consensus say ride it all the way, then we can do that too.

BUFFALO!  Can I ride it?

We might just ride from our place to the start of the path and meet yall at the Blue Line station near the cemetery

I've always wanted to go through Fermilab!

Its open to the public, and bikes will get waved through without having to stop at the checkpoint.   Its a nice area with a buffalo herd and some impressive brutalist architecture.

So then we can go through?

Brothong? Then we'll know for sure when it gets cold.
