O COME ALL YE CYCLISTS

With the Holiday Season upon us, it’s important to think of those less fortunate than ourselves. We’ve partnered with the Marines Corp Reserve’s Toys-For-Tots campaign to help make the Holidays brighter for some children.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13TH, 2013

On Friday, December 13th, 2013 at 6:30am, participants will ride from Amling’s Cycle (8140 N. Milwaukee) to Mystic Celt (3443 N. Southport) to meet a waiting truck from the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign. We'll then enjoy a hot breakfast courtesy of Mystic Celt.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

It costs one toy. (Of course, you're welcome to bring as many as you want!) Drop off a new unwrapped toy at Amling's Cycle. We'll make sure it gets delivered to the Marines to make a kid smile this Holiday.

Ride time update in case you missed the e-mail--starting at 7:30 a.m. sharp. You still need to be there in plenty of time to sign the waiver, etc., so plan to be there a reasonable amount of time before 7:30.

Oh well, still a great ride, a great cause, and a great breakfast at Mystic Celt.  If you have the time, do it.  And it is supposed to be a veritable heat wave on Friday with temperatures in the high teens early warming to about 30.  Maybe we should all head to the beach after Mystic Celt!

No raffle this year. Sorry.

Selling raffle tickets again?  There was a pile of neat prizes last year!

I cannot ride this year as I have work stuff to do out in the far burbs at 830 am. I am going to Amlings to help Joe and Julie while wearing a tie. Too bad. After a bitter day tomorrow, Friday looks to be a nice day for a Winter ride.

There is still time to register.  Friday's early morning weather is forecast to be upper teens warming to low 30s.  I am thinking of bringing a very low-tech sign that says something like "Are you on the Chainlink" so those of us who only know one another on the internet can hook up.

I am thinking I will hang out at the front of the store after I check in. And if I can remember them I have some cute little elf antlers that I will wear.
