Weekly maintenance classes will continue throughout the winter.
This class will cover the fundamentals of modern bicycle geared drivetrains. We will quickly review the history of multigear drivetrains and briefly address internal hub systems, but the focus will be on vanilla mechs and shifters. What's the difference between friction and indexed shifting? Will my Ultegra shifters work with an old Campagnolo-equipped roadie? How do I maintain my drivetrain? When should I replace parts? How and when should I be shifting? Mech? Derailleur? Huh?
Careful listeners will leave this class with answers to all of these questions and many more.
There will be some degree of hands on participation, depending on the number of attendees.
