Advance screening of Last Call at the Oasis, a new film by the producers of An Inconvenient Truth, about the worldwide water crisis. For more information about the film, please visit http://lastcallattheoasis.com/
Pollution, overconsumption, and climate change are threatening communities worldwide with water shortages; but the film is entertaining, alarming, and surprisingly turns to the Middle East for solutions, if only we will. The solutions are provided by Friends of the Earth Middle East (FoEME), a unique organization that brings together Israelis, Palestinians, and Jordanians who work to fairly share and protect the scarce water of the region and among other projects, to rehabilitate the Jordan River, which has been reduced to a polluted trickle. Ladeene Freimuth, former Deputy Director of FoEME’s Israeli office, will speak at the screening. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by Thursday, May 22 by emailing reservations@emanuelcong.org or calling (773) 561-5173.
