Celebrate 25 years of sustainable transportation advocacy
On Thursday, October 13, help us make important strides in years to come by attending a special 25th Anniversary Celebration
Please register by October 3, 2011.
In 1985, the Active Transportation Alliance opened its doors to push for safe streets in Chicagoland.
Then called the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation, this brand-new organization established ambitious goals as it embarked on an uphill battle. Few bike lanes existed and the regional trail network was minimal.
Our membership totaled seven individuals.
Jump to 2011. Active Trans is now at the forefront of the movement to make the Chicago region one of the most bike-friendly places in the U.S.
In 25 years, our membership has grown to more than 6,000 people. Our Chicagoland Bike Map now reveals a growing network of bike lanes and trails in the city and suburbs.
We work with decision makers and community leaders to achieve our goal of dramatically expanding the number of trips taken by walking, biking or transit while diminishing the number of bike and pedestrian crashes in the region.
Join our celebration
Ensure that Active Trans continues to play a key role enhancing the region’s sustainable transportation options during the next quarter century. Here’s your chance to support Active Trans, enjoy a fine meal and mingle with honored guests, decision makers, active transportation advocates and key figures in the business community.
