Please join 39th Ward Alderman Margaret Laurino and the Active Transportation Alliance for a community meeting on Thursday, May 25, from 6:30 - 8pm, at Gompers Park Fieldhouse (4222 W. Foster.)

On the agenda:

Updates on local trail projects, including proposed Weber Spur Trail
Improving access to and from existing trails, such as the North Branch Trail
Opportunities to support other regional trails, including a continuous Chicago River Trail

Comment by Bob Kastigar on May 26, 2017 at 4:03am: A well-attended meeting, over 100 people showed up. There were representatives from the 39th Ward Office, the Active Transportation Alliance, the North Mayfair Association, the Chicago Park District and others.

Several topics and proposals were shared, and the biggest items summarized were:

1. Expansion and completion of the Weber Spur
2. Improvement on east-west travel and routes on the northwest side

Comment by Bob Kastigar on May 5, 2017 at 2:33am: Rougly1/3-mile, about 2000-feet, of paving is all that is necessary to join to new North Branch trail currently under construction with the Valley Line Trail and Weber Spur extension at Bryn Mawr Avenue.
