Description

The route will be from Ravenswood to Bubbly Creek with stops along the way at a relaxed pace. We will take in parks, industrial and residential areas as darkness falls. The finale will be the lighting of a bonfire!

Warm yourself by the glow of the fire, after riding in style with friends old and new. Cue sheets, spoke cards and prizes will be provided.

Garth:

I'll be driving down on Saturday morning, but staying with Owen & Angela over Saturday night. Probably heading out early on Sunday morning to a bike show & swap in Rockford?

My aim is to leave Blue City Cycles between 11am & noon and head up the lakefront trail, the nearer to 11am the betterer - more start-up drinking time in the pub! And fortifying toddies on the way up north to the start, keeping the chill at bay?

Alan!

Erin and I are planning to drop off her car at Bubble Creek then ride up to the start. I presume you're staying with Owen & Co Friday night. You want to roll together?

Is there a list of bar stops yet? I'll be working until 3 am the day before and wont get to bed until closer to 6 am. So I'll probably be meeting up around 4pm.

And I was thinking of riding up the lakefront trail from Bridgeport to Montrose Harbo(u)r to get to the start, could be a nice Saturday morning ride?

Today is the shake-down run for the second 3-speed I'm loaning, it has higher gearing than the other two (19-tooth cog, instead of 22) and has me thinking that I need to up the gearing on t'others! Chicagoland is flat, after all?

The BBC isn't that pedantic and, anyway, a lot of what Schwinn built was based upon what they learnt from trips to the UK in the 1930s - their oddly-sized 26" (IE: Schwinn's S-6=597mm, not 590mm) wheels, for example, are based upon the British EA-1 rim size!

Cam and I have made our tandem suitable for riding, but it is a schwinn, so we will for this tweed ride be ditching the ralieghs in favor of an american bike, but maybe add a brooks.
