Description

British Bicycles of Chicago is hosting the 2010 Bonfire Tweed Ride. Don your best woollies, strap some wood to your bicycle rack and join us.

The route will be from Ravenswood to Bubbly Creek with stops along the way at a relaxed pace. We will take in parks, industrial and residential areas as darkness falls. The finale will be the lighting of a bonfire!

Warm yourself by the glow of the fire, after riding in style with friends old and new. Cue sheets, spoke cards and prizes will be provided.

I intend to join you all at some point later in the day. I'm hoping my Peugeot will inspire some good ol' Anglo-Franco rivalry!

All riders and bicycles are welcome. Lots of warm and woolly clothing is reasonably priced at Village Discount Outlet in Roscoe Village, among other places.

I'd very much like to join. How much will a Schwinn guy get hated on? lol

Also, where might I get my hands on some appropriate attire at a low cost?

- leaving as soon as we can after 11am Saturday?

PS: we can leave the effigy, asking "penny for the guy", outside the bike shop all day? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PennyForTheGuy.jpg
