Description

Chicago's first foray into Sunday Parkways, a program to encourage ourdoor activity. Car traffic will be closed along a linear route from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on these days for people to explore Chicago’s beautiful neighborhoods in fun and active ways.

Bring your bikes, scooters, strollers or just yourself for Sunday Parkways — a first-ever event in Chicago when the streets are transformed into vibrant and physically active scenes.

Sunday Parkways runs along Chicago’s historic and beautiful boulevard system and will connect Logan Square, Humboldt Park, Garfield Park, North Lawndale and Little Village neighborhoods, displaying the vibrant culture of Chicago’s communities along the way.

Comment by Patrick Barry on October 20, 2008 at 3:42pm: I rode the first one on October 5 and it was terrific: better than Critical Mass in many ways because there were so many families out with their young children (future cycling leaders!). The crowd was very diverse and as friendly as could be.
