Fast pace straight-aways and 90-degree turns are all part of Chicago's first Criterium Bike Race, held in Grant Park. Professional teams from around the world compete. A criterium is a closed circuit loop of around 1.3 miles. The race is part of Chicago's plan to become more environmentally friendly and to be recognized as an international sporting venue. Sponsor booths and festival vendors are on hand to keep the crowd happy.
