Richard, there is non-permit, non-metered street parking all around Wicker Park. (i.e. Wicker Park, Evergreen, Schiller, LeMoyne, Pierce, Damen south of Schiller, Hoyne, Leavitt).

Metra Bicycle Blackout? Great. Does anyone have parking recommendations for this area?

Ah, good point Greg. Friggin' War and slaughter show!

Don't forget, this is a Metra Bicycle Blackout weekend. Any bikes on transit bailouts will have to be via CTA.

John Greenfield, any ETA on when we'll around the Calumet Fisheries and Rainbow Cone?  I think we should warn them this year.

Okay then, I'll be there, thanks!

Radfahrer (if that is in fact your name),

You'll have no problem. If you do you can always bail via public transit. For example, my 75-year-old dad rode with us until Pullman and then caught Metra downtown.

John,

I'd recommend coming out for the ride and riding as much as you want.  It's a great way to see parts of the city you've never been to before and the pace is pretty relaxed (We are taking all day to do 100 miles after all).

I've signed on for the ride but now I'm beginning to wonder if it will be too difficult.  I ride often but they're mainly short utilitarian trips of a few miles (I work from home so there's no commuting).  If a person hasn't done any "training" to prepare, will the Perimeter Ride be too challenging, even with the easy pace and frequent stops? Thanks for any advice.  John

Sadly, for the third year in a row, I have something else important going on that day.
