Information on the Hector Avalos case was intermixed in a number of earlier threads. The Defendant, Robert Vais, pled guilty to Aggravated DUI in the death of Hector Avalos. The sentencing for Robert Vais will be on Tuesday, November 17, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cook County Courthouse, 26th and California, in Courtroom 702.

Thanks, Skip. -MSK

Does anyone know when the next hearing is in the Bobby Cann case?

It seems as if the Active Transportation Alliance has stopped posting updates.

Jason Jenkins emailed that he was unable to attend the last hearing, which was 10/2, and asked that anyone who did attend to fill him in, from what I recall.

From 9/23:

"Just a quick update from Monday’s hearing. The presiding Judge, Judge Hooks was out and a substitute judge presided over the hearing which was very short and simply set a new date to hear a new motion entered by the defense to dismiss the search warrant. The next date was set for 10/02/15, which is a week from Friday. If you are able to attend please let me know."

Let me amend my previous comment:  "It seems as if the Active Transportation Alliance has stopped posting updates on the Chainlink."

Thanks for posting Bob. I hadn't received an update.

This is a very short transcript of the hearing on September 21st.  It was a temporary judge substituting for Judge Hooks and has nothing substantial.

This hearing was followed by a hearing on October 2nd (which I haven't gotten a transcript for yet) and this was followed by the most recent hearing on Thursday, October 15th.   I have no idea of if and when I'll get notified that either of the transcripts will be made available.  Feel free to call the Court Reporters Office and request a transcript.  (773) 674-6065

We don't seem to be getting any information from anyone attending the hearings so this is the only way I know of we can get complete and accurate reports.

Some, not all, previous transcripts are still available if you try the format:

(No reports on these hearings; is anyone still going?  Why the silence?)

Posting this in the Streetsblog headlines today.

John, could you please include this as well? There is also a very important date in the Hector Avalos case the day after - it's the sentencing. Here's the information:
