I have to drive to the Loop (ugh) but I don't want to pay for parking.  I'm looking for the closest Divvy station located in a free street parking area.  I'm thinking about Grand and Milwaukee, but it could be N S or W of the loop.  Does anyone have other suggestions?

Where are you commuting from, and why do you need to drive? There may be a very good reason; I'm just curious whether transit and/or biking might be an alternative.

In the past, I parked on Halsted just North of North street and rode over to Arlington Hostel.

Thanks for the suggestions. West side is what I was thinking too. I'm coming from North side then have to be to Hyde Park (quickly and in suit), then heading to Dekalb. I don't drive unless absolutely necessary.
Every morning I see construction workers rising East on Kinzie on a Divvy. Hard hat on, and a large back pack, they go into the loop, presumably after having parked somewhere in the west loop.
They could. But they are not.
I've seenem come down the hill from DesPlaines.

My point is that OPs thought was not farfetched at all

Randolph or Washington west of Racine could work as well. There are a few Divvy stations in that area.
