on Lake Shore Drive?

Lake Shore dr is also the name go the road that parallels LSD (the big road) immediately to the west.

Isn't it called "Inner Lake Shore Drive"?

I wonder how and why he got onto the outer drive.

From the dna article it sounds like alcohol could be a factor. Terrible situation for all involved.

The Trib called the bicyclist "highly intoxicated".

Wonder whether Divvy will charge him $1200 for totaling the bike.
Despite all circumstances in this terrible situation for all involved, I know this community hopes for the recovery and health of the cyclist involved.

"There’s never a good time for it, especially ... with family get togethers and what not" on the horizon.

........hm.

Perhaps true, but when you've gotten drunk off your ass and hopped onto a freeway on a bicycle and started swerving across two entire lanes, you've created a pretty large opportunity for tragedy.

It sounds as though the event might not have been so tragic if the driver of the Honda (uninsured - wonder why?) had not plowed into the fallen cyclist and the stopped cars.

Life can change dramatically for the worse or end with just a moment of bad judgement.  Let's all be very careful - in our own behavior, and in anticipating dumb things others may do.

Very bad combination.

A trifecta of bad news:  drunk Divvy cyclist; uninsured driver; and likely underinsured Uber.
