Motordumb...

Streets in cities were never really safe places to be wandering around.  Even Teddy Roosevelt's Presidential carriage was hit by a trolley back in the day.

Given the lack of paved roads or cobblestones with rails in them (and ruts along Chicago's vast cable car network) I really am glad to be biking now than in the early 20th century.
