The Chainlink

Next time you're pedaling from downtown to Wicker Park or Lincoln Park, you might try a stealth route I recently stumbled upon, hugging the east side of the Chicago River, traveling underneath the old Montgomery Ward complex and even through the Chicago Avenue bridge house, where you can see the huge yellow gears of the lifting mechanism. A virtual tour of the route is up on Grid Chicago:

Keep moving forward,

Just got back from the route...found out about the stairs and where I needed to go.

I have some video footage of my ride that I'll post as soon as I eat and edit. :)

Howard will this be part of CM tomorrow?

Thanks, John!

Just rode this route, It would be too crowded for a large mass ride, unless the group is the size of a MM ride.

I've done my part-- the rest is up to you all :-)

Thus far I haven't been privy to any serious route proposals for tomorrow.

Rode it  tonight-- good stuff :-)

Rode it yesterday, what a great dayfor a bike ride. Interesting perspective on the city but not a quick route.

It was fun taking the small December mass through there.
