You blew the red light east bound on Lawrence at Damen at 5:26 pm this evening.

There was enough time for the biker in front of me to make it half way into the intersection, northbound on Damen, before you came whizzing past my front wheel.

I yelled "You're an idiot!" at your big haired chick, self, and you looked back at me. I meant it!

I woulda testified for any of the cars, that managed to not kill you, if they had.

Keep riding like a tard!

love,

gabe

Witness bad behavior during your commute? Feel free to post. Maybe that lovely human can read it and think they are famous. Maybe you can also inspire the whole generation of kids to shower but we can start with small things.

Riding down Armitage he passes a little too close then squeezes me so I place my hand on his mirror like "you're a little too close" He rolls his window down as he starts driving away presumably to say something ignorant like get off the road, ride on the sidewalk, touch my car again I'll beat your ass...etc. I tell him to keep driving since he's in such a hurry.

He stops 2 blocks away at Halsted glaring at me in his side mirror then floors it and turns down a side street, I continue on.

A few minutes later he flies by me doing 50-60 mph on Larrabee stops behind 2 cars at Clybourn does a U turn floors it coming North in the southbound lane at which point I have hopped on the curb with my phone out to take a pic of him.

Giving Porsche drivers a bad name! Though, in my own experience, motorists displaying behavior inconsiderate of cyclists are usually driving pricey cars...

If you have a second, report this on closecalldatabase.com.

On the brighter side, I think we must have reached critical mass of law-abiding bikers in Evanston.  On Saturday, there were two of us bikers at the same intersection at the same time!  We both yielded to traffic appropriately and signaled our turns and everything.  I hope the drivers weren't too shocked.

Great! I wish I could say the same for Chicago. I feel like the critical mass goes the other way. :-(

I had a similar experience in Beverly the other night.

Of course, Divvy is coming to Evanston this summer, so there may be a whole new generation of bikers to educate.  But at least we know it is possible.  (And very cool about Beverly, too!)

Clybourn is a literal shit show thanks to the damn horses.

There is so much horse pucky in various degrees of drying that i'm becoming an animal rights activist soon.

And I'm not sure who made the choice that the cars shouldn't be inconvenienced by the horses but they have cages to protect them from fecal matter.

This is an actual shitty situation.

shit

To the Divvy rider coming down Milwaukee at 8:10am,

I'm sure you are super important and whatever you were texting about while you were riding on a pretty technical street was really urgent, but just wanted to let you know that a young women died just a block north of where you were just yesterday.  And she wasn't even distracted; she was doing everything she should have been doing.

So, even though I think you're an idiot, I don't want you to injure another cyclist or injure yourself so please put your phone away while you're riding.  If your message is that urgent you should pull to the side and wait to continue until after you've sent it.

Thanks,

Crotchety Old Bike Lady
