The Chainlink

Hello everyone and congratulations for this forum!

I am visiting your amazing city for the first time from April 15-22. It seems that weather is steadily improving. So, does anyone fancy a ride on route bike within April 16-21? Since I am new to the city, I don't feel comfortable enough to do it by my own and certainly would adapt to the route someone would propose.

Hope we can do it!

Gilberto.

What kinds of rides are you looking to do? How many miles do you typically ride at a time?

Yasmeen, thank you for your answer!

I can do up to 70-80 miles if the altimetry is not too hard...  (Actually, I am doing a 155 km - 105 miles on June and need to train hard!)

Hello Gilberto, which if any of the trails have you been on since the 15th here in Chicago? As a lifelong resident I know all the trails in the area and adjoining states. Though I'm 61 I did a century and a couple metric centuries as well last year. My wife only rides the trails. So I know them well.
Bien venido a Chicago

Dear Mario:

SO sorry for answering this late. In the end I rent a bike at Bobby Hike Bike, and after 2 hours of riding, the chain broke and I was quite far from the shop. Such a mess.

Nevertheless, I did enjoy the little ride I did. I definitely need to return to Chicago and discover more corners.

Such a great city of yours!

All the best,

Gilberto.

So sorry to hear about your chain breaking during a ride. Just awful. I hope you had decent weather when you went for a ride at the very least. Next time you are in town, please let us know.

Well, I was deeply impressed by the wind. It almost stop me completely while running. Will definitely let you know when I return to Chicago!

best! ;-)
