One owner (me) 5'9” and my Levi's all have a 30” inseam. In truth this bike is a little big for me I can stand over it (barely) so I would only recommend it to someone at least a bit taller.
Bike History:
purchased new from Cycle Smithy on Clark in the early nineties
Rode the bike as weekend transportation when I lived in the Lincoln Park area as a young single man (way before there was any bike lanes in the city)
After moving to the suburbs the bike was mostly unused until I started commuting to work. After awhile I wanted a bike that fit me better so again this bike went largely unused.
Two summers past (three if you count the upcoming summer) I rebuilt her. I stripped it down to the frame. I wiped down the powder coat with acetone (not stripped) , primed and repainted the frame and fork. The crank, headset and wheel bearings have been thoroughly cleaned repacked with waterproof grease. Every part cleaned and lubed. I reassembled her as a more upright type bike. I ditched the flat bar and replaced the brake levers [the old (broken) shifters were integrated with the brake levers]. Replaced the old brakes. After the rebuild I have only ridden the bike a few times and mostly it just gets shuffled around in the basement. It rides and operates nice and smooth - pretty nice really.
Lots of high res photos available as needed.

Oh yeah, asking 450.....
I can't tell from the pics, does it have vertical or horizontal drop-outs?
I also forget the timeline. Was Trek still making bikes in Wisconsin(?) by then?
You are exactly correct.
As far as for provenance: I can absolutely guarantee that in was made on planet Earth buy actual humans.
