Need a recommendation for an upright seating position bicycle...

like one of those JCLinds but not as expensive. This is for my wife and she loves the Divvy (that is an option) but looking for something we can buy outright.

Thoughts?

Have you looked at the Linus (at J.C. Lind) or the Public (at BFF Bikes)?  I have a Linus step through that is a pretty solid bike.  I don't ride the Linus any more because my riding style has changed, but it was a good bike when I wanted an upright bike.

The feedback I have heard on the Publics has been similar, but I do not have any personal experience.

Any old Raleigh Sports 3 Speed. Cheap at thrift stores, garage sales, and pawn shops. Ungodly over priced on Craigslist and eBay.

I think you can find these at Working Bikes fairly often. You might want to give them a call.

Thanks all. We settled on a Linus step through. We tried several and this one was a standout in terms of what she was looking for. Easy decision.

Again, thanks for all the great recommendations.

Glad she found the right bike for her needs. You should post a picture in case some references this thread for similar recommendations.

Was this the model you bought for her ?

Yes, but hers is the 3-speed. The one pictured is a one-speed.

That is the current price on their website for the base model. What options did you/they add on if you bought a model off the showroom floor ?

3 - speed, Okay.

No add-ons. Just the basic three speed.

Bike rode fantastic and was such a relief to the hunch-over daily rides I have. She is going to love it.
