The Chainlink

Hmmm, its getting a little chilly these days. Ominous, indeed. Are we in for more brutality this season or will we get a pass like we did over the winters between snowmageddon and last winter?

I have no idea. But I'm prepared! Got this baby at Dick's Sporting goods. Only cost me $5,795.00 with the external environmental back pack. They didn't carry it in any safety color I preferred and sizing is not exactly perfect, but -30 wind chills? Heh, no problem. I figure its a good investment given that I can also wear it on public transportation to avoid any Ebola concerns.

Here is a good site showing the suit in action. I hope that clears things up for you.

CAN YOU PLEASE BE SERIOUS FOR ONE MINUTE? I don't even understand how they could have a store there? Are you being a troll or are you being serious? If they do, are you sure they would even ship back to the US? Can you just post a link?

I don't appreciate your tone, Joe. If you get pleasure out of joking like this, that's pretty sick.

Not really sure how this is at ALL relevant. (Although, this movie looks great. Let me know if you're interested in going to see it this weekend).

I don't appreciate how this forum just shits on noobies with legitimate questions. Is it that challenging to be a decent human being? I guess that's just a biker mentality...

Brent, please, we're on the same side here. Sit down, take a few deep breaths and meditate upon a benevolent winter this season. Our  chief state meteorologist (yes, we have one) is actually predicting a milder than normal winter this year. But Brent, we need your help and that of the remaining millions who live in the mid west. You have to will this to make it happen. You must focus every fiber of your consciousness toward this goal in a deep meditative state for at least the next few critical months. If we amalgamate our collective consciousnesses toward this goal we will get there.

Brent, use the force!

If you look closely the OP shows Mr. Mcconaughey is modeling this "gear" that Mr Guzzardo is talking about. He may have an in as to where to find this but I doubt it will be consumer ready for at least a year or so.

You got yours for $5,795? Drats. I paid $7,595 for mine. You can never trust those shrewd-bargaining Antarcticans.

I am ready for full-time commuting.

I am also ready to not deal with traffic and if anyone complains about the cold, kick them hard.....with how they have no idea how cold it is.

And be that loony that pulls up next to a car sitting in traffic, sip my water bottle, give a wink and a nod, and roll on.

Ha, a good feeling. :)

LOL. Well thanks Gene. I feel a little better now. But now that you mention it, I did walk out the door 3 times before they caved in to my final offer.

I just bought a star trek shirt at this pop up store on the corner of State and Ninth Street. $49.99! And I was lucky to get it, it was the last one they had in stock. On Monday everything will be marked down to $9.99, I'm sure.

Face it. Its a cold, bleak, frightening world out there.

FYI, I was just at the Pony Shop in Evanston and they had three boxes of unsold Wölvhammer boots (size 46-47) just sitting there.  I don't think they're an official dealer for these, but if you were looking for a pair, it might be worth checking out.    As for winter:  bring it!

Remember when it seemed a little unusual to get snow before mid-late December?

Yowza! Wet & wild for sure.
