LFP was heavily salted and clear. Did not see another cyclist on it for the whole 8 miles I rode this morning. I am disappointed that it may be snowing for the Winter Bike to Work event tomorrow downtown. It may be worth the snowy ride for cheesecake and coffee though.

First I've heard of it...anything special I should know?

Saw just two other cyclists on my @ 8 mile commute between Edgewater and downtown (via the LFP) - seemed (relatively) mild too (probably partly due to a combination of tail wind and more winter layers than I really needed).

If you are talking about the weather:  http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-chicago-weather-forecast-col...

On the other hand, if you are talking about coffee and cheesecake:  http://www.thechainlink.org/events/winter-bike-to-work-day-online-r...

A little snow and negative wind chill will make coffee and cheesecake that much more enjoyable tomorrow morning! :)

Lovely morning for a ride.

Nice morning, only saw one other bike and it was a fitness biker not a commuter.  Then again I was also running late and it is a holiday.  Looks like tomorrow will be a bit too cold for my toes but we'll see.

Holy crap the comments.

We seem to share a route along the southside LFP - I was on it myself this morning, and didn't see any others, either. Which was a shame - it really is rather nice right now. Makes me sad, knowing that all of it's going to freeze and get buried under snow after such a short period of being clear. We'll see how the salt holds out, I guess.

Easy one today. As always, tonight could be very different.

That's cool Simon, maybe we will run across each other some time. I ride a grey touring bike with steel fenders and a lot of lights.
