OK, this is a couple of days late, but hope it's still worth sharing. Had a nice Sat evening 25 mi "errand run," hauling groceries, cleaning, et al, in a Burley Nomad, that ran out to the near western burbs and back. Found myself returning, about 7:30, through downtown Franklin Park. Got a little nervous as I spotted about a dozen 20-ish-looking young men, apparently coming out of a bar, milling about rather aimlessly in the middle of Belmont. Got a little more nervous as I noticed them taking an interest in me, and my bike (a SWM recumbent, with fairing, and enough lights to attract UFOs), and moving towards me. Then, at about 50 feet, I heard the groans, and noticed the zombie makeup they were all wearing. I freakin' LOVE Halloween.
So how DID you escape the Zombie Apocalypse?

I think they were looking for brains, so I was safe.

I'm partial to Glacier neoprene kayak gloves. Keep your hands warm in the rain, and they're nice and grippy.
Bez said:I picked up a pair of Head running gloves at Costco for cheap. Not sure about waterproof per se, but they are definitely wicking. I wore them in a drizzle and had no issues. As a bonus, they have the grip dots and are touchscreen friendly. I also picked up a pair of Paradox merino wool long-johns at the same time. Wore those this morning, I will be picking up a couple of extras if they still have them there

yes, i did ride today, lovely
gene, nice photos, glad you're back
to all, have a nice day!
Yep! I did :)
I noticed that underarmor cold gear (at least for women) doesn't seem to be what I remember it being a few years back... :/
Rode 16 miles today. Seems like were down to just the hardcores on the LFP these days.
16 miles, 1 hour 2 minutes. Wind was coming out of the south, so the trip back was a bit rougher. But today was warmer too.
I have an old winter weight UA top, that I love, love, love. Have never found another one like it.
Works for me. :-)

There was still a handful of bikes on Lincoln Ave. early this morning and there are still plenty of bikes locked up to racks around the loop. And, why not? Its a lovely day even if the ride in and out has to be interrupted by the business at hand and even if both ends are done with lights.
