Anyone want to go on a ride this Saturday??
I just started road biking this spring and just went on a 55 mile this past weekend and I must admit it was a little intense. I have looked innto various bike clubs but it seems that a lot of their rides are either a much faster pace or social. I was hoping to find some people to ride with starting at a 12-14 mile pace and then building speed as time goes on. I need to build some endurance and do some medium length rides.
Anyone interested in a ride this Saturday?? The catch is that I don't really know any routes so if you know of some that would be even better. I have a hard enough time remembering to clip out of my pedals let alone try to figure out a route along the way :) The more the merrier!!!!

Do you have a ride planned for Saturday yet? I gotta get out there! 12-14 is a good speed for me at this point of the year, maybe 25 - 40 miles instead of a big 55? I know some routes. Or I was thinking of going to the Folks on Spokes ride...

Haven't found anyone yet so I would def still be up for a ride. Preferably early in the day. If you can think of a route and time i'm there.

Can't go this weekend - but that's a great pace/distance for my wife and me. Keep us posted for future weekend rides...
we're also in evanson - sheridan rd or gb trail to highland park is our standby ride, but always looking for more.

I put a nice 40 miler I do on map my ride.com. Accessible by CTA or a 9 mile ride out downtown. I might be up for a ride. Otherwise, it is a pretty easy trail to follow, very few street sections.

I live in Logan Square, we could just ride up Milwaukee to the north branch trail.
Or we could do the Forest Glen ride in the afternoon.

That sounds good. I was hoping to do a longer ride ride then the Forest Glen Ride plus I would rather do a morning ride. Would you want to go around 9am? Let me know where to meet you. How many miles is the north branch trail?

I prefer morning rides too, so 9 is good. Earlier is possible too.
North branch stats: The North Branch Trail System is a Class I bicycle trail located in northwestern Cook County, Illinois. The trail starts at Caldwell and Devon Avenues in Chicago, and continues north approximately twenty (20) miles to Lake County, Illinois.
So we can do as much as we like or the whole thing...
We can meet at Cozy Corner Diner at Milwaukee and California at 9 am
