I took the 'L' this morning because I am taking a train up to Milwaukee tonight and didn't want to leave my bike parked in the Loop all weekend. It just happened to coincide with the snow. :-)

I rode today.  It was a bit tricky in spots, but overall, not too bad.

A fresh snow is always a delight on the lakefront trail, Lisa. I love crunching salt, too.

17 miles, took forever, the wrecks I've had on ice are still with me my BP spikes around ice. I don't even like slush.

Thing is the times I've ate pavement as an adult are nothing compared to all the times I wiped out as a kid.  Once we raced down a hill (Pennsylvania, that place has hills that count) to a ramp we set up and I crashed in a spectacular fashion, I bent my front wheel landing.  Some bruises, skinned flesh a bit of crying, ate some ice cream and was back at it.   If I did that now I'm totally sure I would have to go to the hospital all busted up.

Scored a 22 inch flat monitor as I was going through an alley, the guy was just taking out.  Just hooked it up to my lap top and it is fine, plan to watch the last season of Mad Men while I type. There should be a thread for alley finds

Oh, because it was the day for it what is the downside of inhaling salt??

Snow and ice were no problem. 30 miles inro the city to pick up light at Rapid Transit for an upcoming Evanston Bike Club give away to commuter ninjas and then up to the club's ride planning meeting.It was salty but sunny and delightful.

Road approximately 12 miles around and around the neighborhood thinking the ice storm will arrive any minute and i don't want to far from home! Still it was great to be out with almost no cars! Yippee

I love it when a plan comes together.  Rode over to my uncle's near the lake this morning about 11:00 before the nastiness hit.  My husband joined me there for dinner--he took the 4-wheel drive vehicle in which we put the bike when we left.  Got home without incident and am looking forward to all of this ending and everything melting before morning so I can ride to work!

I rode 15 miles today, thankfully before, and after the worst of it. The kicker is have $150 worth of carbide studded tires. This is the first day in several years that studded tires would have warranted use, and mine are not even on wheels. Hell, I don't even have tubes for them any more.

It's icy on the side streets. I was fine leaving downtown tonight, but hit a sheet of ice and wiped out within a block of my apt. 

Not sure it's worth the investment in the studs, though...it's supposed to be in the 50's in a couple days.

Still some icy patches on side streets early this morning!  I also saw more runners in the bike lanes, the sidewalks are bad in spots too.  Lincoln/Wells were fine with just a couple of isolated patches of ice.
