There is a lady in every sense of the word whom I imagine you greatly miss!

My grandma, a great soul who passed away last weekend at 92, had a saying about folks like this.  I can see her finishing this column over a cup of coffee, pausing thoughtfully, and then gently tossing the paper aside, and saying: "He's more to be pitied than censured".

She sounds like a wise soul.

It was great to see SO many people at the press conference and on the ride afterwards.  It looked like pretty much every TV station and newspaper had people out there covering it.

It was a pretty good turnout. You can't see everyone in that picture. Oh, and I got to high five the mayor.

Yay! Thanks Anne! were there any protestors?

That was good times! The lane felt very comfortable too.

Definitely no protestors lol.

That lane is a little slice or Europe right in the heart of downtown Chicago!

I envy the bicyclists that do get to use it everyday.

Don't worry we'll find SOMETHING to complain about. :)

Happily none. Just lots of happy people

After the press conference - Mayor Emanuel and Commissioner Klein greeting folks at the start of the ride.

Riding the lanes

Woohoo! This is beyond awesomeness. Next, I'd like to see more cycling centers like the McDonald' center in Millennium Park, in the heat of the loop. New York City requires that public parking buildings reserve a certain percentage of garage space for bicycles. We should do the same.
