I was super excited; this morning I rode for just the second time in almost 3 weeks. I had a case of the whooping cough and ear infection keeping me down. Feels good, man.

This morning = brrrrr!

Yes ... and it wasn't v cold

I always get the most excited about cycling in this type of weather this time of year! I rode from my home in Bridgeport to the Old Town School of Folk Music in Lincoln Square and back yesterday, and I woke up feeling like a $,$$$,$$$. Be safe everyone.

This time of year is great other than the parts of the lakefront trail where the lights are out and a few wandering flocks of geese around Diversey Harbor.

And the rain last Thursday.

Beautiful photos coming in from the rides!

Makes you appreciate Chicago again!

No riding today, but Gene's photos make clear what a magnificent ride it would have been!

I figured if it was cold I'd be riding to work with a tailwind (Evaston-to-Loop).  How wrong I was.  Chilly ears...

This shot:

Makes me imagine one of Hitchcock's, Blonde (your choice) leading ladies traveling towards us, on her bike.  She comes into view riding very slowly, along her right edge of the path.  Head straight, chin lowered, appropriately paced music, building tension, plays in the background.  The bikes stops directly in front of the bench.  Our rider shifts her left foot down from the lowered pedal to the ground.  All motion ceases except for a breeze slightly moving leaves on the tree overhead in the foreground.

We get to see a close up of just her ring-less left hand, white knuckled on the grip.

She scans to her right, over the bench.  Still mounted, she turns to her left and looks behind at the path just traveled.  Determining this to be the place, she carefully dismounts the step thru frame on the left.  Steeling herself, she rolls her shoulders back, while walking the bike to the rear of the bench.  Gently leaning it our player walks clockwise to the front of the bench.  She sits down, and waits.  We're waiting too.  Watching in the shadows...

The suspense is killing me . . .

Blustery ride in this morning.
