I've got a Salsa Woodchipper mountain bike drop bar for sale. I installed it on my touring/commuter bike and I just don't like it. Unfortunately, the stem clamp scuffed the paint on the bar ever so slightly so I can't send it back to where I bought it. So, these sell for about $32 - $40 depending on who you buy it from plus shipping. So, I'm selling it for $25 and you don't have to pay any shipping or tax. The width is 46cm and the clamp diameter is 25.4mm.

What's the OD on the straight part of the drops?

Those are interesting bars -never seen them before.  I can see why someone wouldn't like them.  I'm not sure how they would be good for anything other than maybe lever compatibility with MTB levers and shifters.  What is the reasoning behind the very tight bend?  Mark's question about the OD is very salient. Would one put MTB levers below the bend on the drops?  Then what -interupters on the top?

James,

These are designed primarily as dirt drops. They take road levers, and are meant to be set up high, with the drops as your default position, positioned closer to where you would normally have the tops on road bars.

This is very interesting.  I'm reading the product description now.

I can see where it would be an advantage for climbing and pulling back at the drops.   It is neat how drop bars are really coming back in strange ways.  Maybe that is because I'm getting interested in cyclocross that I'm seeing it more.

These are a really good bargain for someone who they would be right for.  I'm sure someone will snap up this deal.

I can see where having wide bars would be a drag hauling a bike in and out of doors as well as up and down stairs.  It might be limiting in some traffic situations for some more aggressive riders who like to jump into tight spots between cars.  This is why I ended up going from MTB bars to Northroads on my daily tank.  Huge improvement.

As for nobody biting on them yet -it's still pretty early in the "spring" season.  Prices are still pretty low and the common bike folk are still hibernating.  I've yet to even try selling any of my restored bikes yet as the interest isn't quite there to push the supply/demand curve.  Give it a few more weeks and by the end of April stuff like this will be flying out the door.

I think it's a great deal  myself but I'm not in the market for something like this.  If I were I'd have snatched it up already.

I'm not sure I want to live in a world were '94 is "old."

It's not even Classic or Vintage yet.  Yup, I'm a retrogrouch!

Try selling them on CAMBR.

I'll give you $20 for the bars if nobody else bites at $25.

Did you end up selling them?

Hate to say it, but I think you're stuck with them. Also, we should get together and ride again soon. Maybe head down to Three Floyds or up to Kenosha.

If you ship them, i will take them

Hey I'd be interested in these if you still have them for sale. Send me a message with place and time to meet.
