To all the members, contributors, readers and riders of the Chain Link:
Some of you may have known or heard that I have left the enclave of Chicago and Chicago cycling to head back east to Brooklyn. I spent three and a half years in the fair second city, but it is a fine city that I have already started to miss.
Through the Chain Link (I was going to abbreviate it as CL but did not want to seem like I was looking for Adult Services), I have met some very interesting characters, helped battle stolen bike thieves, enjoyed ridiculous bar bike tours, costumed rides, tweed rides, ran into fellow Chicagoans in the middle of Iowa, got drunk a *few* times, rode the Perimeter Ride, fully experienced Santa Rampage (maybe my favorite) albeit sans bullhorn, learned much more about bikes and biking, and learned and experienced more about Chicago than I could have imagined.
I appreciate the good times . . . there really were no bad times except I jumped on a bar bike tour to get out of a funk. I appreciate the community that you all have built. And I wish there was a similar group here in the City.
Thank you all, even Doug Haynes! But thank you, especially, to Julie Hochstadter for her very clear devotion to this organization!
Marty
PS - By the way, CowBike is still in Chicago . . . The Chicago Eight (bikes) have had to be reduced down to five. And if you are ever in BKLN and want to ride, drop me a line!

Starting to get the impression the Chainlink is all bout boozing and biking. I would have to be careful and not leave my drink unattended round you peeps...
Speak for yourself.. I like that bullhorn :)
Marty, you were thought of many times on the Santa Rampage, especially the likeness of your Holloween costume and flask ;)
Come back and visit soon!

Halloween costume? I wear that thing like 6 times a year . . .
Oh I have and am keeping BOTH bullhorns. I will likely be out on my balcony tonight in Santa Gear with bullhorn wishing all of the Borough of Kings, a Merry Merry Christmas!

What's this Chain Link (two words) you refer to? And yes, we miss you Marty, along with everyone else who has left us....
I would raise my cup with all y'all next time we ride and stop. But I have had the experience of having an unattended bottle of beer dissappearing once in a group of bike peeps.
As far as thechainlink goes, lots of beer related events I've attended and with much joy until a beer went rogue, and it was'nt even my second.
