Great video!
Interesting how many are "high handlebar" bikes and a good number are step-throughs.
Having seen the recently posted video about bike helmets they may well have got it right?
I guess I'm safe for now...

the first snow always grounds everything to a halt just about anywhere. just this week the buffalo, ny commuters were stuck in their cars about 10hrs after they were hit with a storm. have you ever tried driving on chicago's highways right after a dusting of snow?

what i find sexy, tho, is the sheer volume of undeterred rider. no one is racing like people seem to here, and that no one appears to be really 'uber-geared' up in cyclowear, just casual folk riding casual bikes. simplicity is sexiness to me.

Interesting that you think winter riding in the Netherlands is sexy. Earlier this week when this snow hit, it led to the longest evening rush hour on record. Public transit was running with multi-hour delays, or just stopped running altogether. The average driver in the Netherlands simply does not possess the skills to deal with this kind of weather.

Winter riding is one of those times where you can count yourself lucky living in Chicago. At least this city knows how to plow the streets

This will be good training to keep me from physically expressing my hatred towards those drivers who make me feel pointless about being car free in a city that has the potential at being the greatest cycling center in America.
