Dear Kidical Cyclistas:
Gin and I would like to hold a Bike Winter demo/class, with a special focus on all-season family cycling, at the end of the Oct. 9th Logan Square KM ride.
We're looking for a ride destination at a local park and where we could hold ththe BW demo, while kids could play on a playground.
It was awesome how the Sept. ride ended at Unity Park where the kids and adults played and hang out. Anybody have ideas for a good desitnation park for the demo where kids could play and where there might be some shelter in case of inclement weather (shelter isn't essential)?
We'd like to nail down a site for the demo/class so we can start promoting it-- we would greatly appreciate any destination ideas you have.
Also, we'll be asking people to help out with the demo soon --who wants to play Santa and pass out those balaclavas? Start practicing your Ho, Ho, Ho's . . .
Cheers,
Michael
PS: And kudos to Ash for creating an awesome KM flyer!

Karen, that looks like a great choice. It does look a bit tricky to get to, but I think we've got sufficient experience now to pull it off. I'd like to do a short jog on Milwaukee ave. Although it's a busier street then we usually ride on, there's so many cyclists on Milwaukee that it seems the car traffic is more aware and bike friendly than other major streets. Crossing Western is probably the worst thing we'd have to do. Any suggestions for the best crossing spot?
