Hi, I also am a site manager at a PADS site, in Oak Lawn. Thanks Bro. and ATA for your help with our mounting problem. The economy has been hard on us all. As always, thanks to the ATA!! I try to collect and give bike away at my site as well weekly. So far, I have been successful. Thanks all for all of your efforts for the homeless. Take care. Ken, I know you from the BBC, right???

Yep Glenn, it's me. Sorry all the shirts were snapped up by the Marquette Park site. I love your idea of a bike a week. I'd like to borrow that idea. How do get your bikes. Donated?? Very cool.

In regards to the "bike or two a week"...we have run notices in church bulletins from time to time, as a sort of bike drive. Also, I have given a letter to a local bike shop describing how and where they will be used. They will give me some as they are available. The letter just lets their patrons know where they will go to. We have given out many bikes so far. We usually do it as an auction, but will give direct when needed. As for the homeless...I do this because it is the best "give back" I can think of...helping about 70 people in a 6 hour period of time per week for me. I look at it like this...many of us (including me) are just one or two bad situations from being in the same place. I have been doing this for years, and will continue to do so.

Well done! I think this is a great use for leftover t-shirts. A tip of the hat to Active Trans for this act of kindness, and to Ken and Glenn for their ongoing volunteer work with folks in need.
