Dumb drivers. Turned into me on a green when I was heading north on Milwaukee at the Elston intersection around 9am this morning. Rear of frame is pretty bent, made my rack/basket fly off. No broken bones, but banged up my knee and got a few bruises. bah.

sorry to hear this. glad you are OK though.

did you get the license number and file a report ?

be sure to get medical help if you don't feel 100% right in the next several days.

I ended up on a car's trunk and was OK ... but had badly bruised ribs 5 days later.

DB
was he turning right, and you went straight? did you get drivers info and handle it accordingly? glad to hear that there are no broken bones, but a broken bike hurts just as much!

Sorry to hear about the crash. Have you checked out the ATA page? As others have said on other crash threads, you probably don't want to say as little as possible if you want to try to get the driver's insurance company to pay for your bike.

Stacy- I'm a lawyer, and I approve S's message...

Glad you're ok. Post the incident at www.roadguardian.com.
If you have not already get a police report.
Waited for police to come, filed a report. Driver got a ticket. They were turning left on a green when I was going straight in the opposite direction. Went to the emergency room afterwards to get checked out. Have all the insurance info and everything.
That is definitely a dumb driver for two reasons: the first is obvious, the second is making a left turn when there is a sign that clearly says "No Left Turn" onto Elston when going south on Milwaukee Ave! (I know this because I was with someone the other day that almost turned left there.) Maybe at 3 am a driver can turn left there, but not during rush hour traffic.
Glad to hear that you are OK. It is unfortunate about your bike. Hope you are back on two wheels soon.
Get Better dude! At least the fool driver got a ticket.
Insurance companies make money, the city makes money, & a bike shop (or craigslist solicitor) make money. All the while you get a bit banged up. Ain't life grand?
Good.

Call their insurance ASAP and if they give you any static get a lawyer.
