The Chainlink

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. My bike was parked on my back porch from about 4pm last Thursday til about 5:30 am Friday when I was getting ready to ride to work. There were three chunks eaten out of my rear tire. I think it was a sqirrel or chipmunk. I don't want to think of what other rodent it might have been. The marks are similar to the ones we see the sqirrels make on pumpkins every Hallowe'en. Last year $400 worth of wiring was munched out of a wire harness in my car.

Oh, if only it were a road tire - 100PSI+ of rubber deliciousness.

I take it the tube has a nice gash in it too.

I had a heavy duty tire liner which was only chewed up in one of the holes. The tube had a single puncture in that hole. My theory is that after a puff of stale air (about 60psi) it didn't want to gnaw on the tube. You're right, though, 100+psi would have been fun to watch.
