i guess. it's not as much of a challenge for you as for us mere mortals. still, i challenge you to do it again!

Did I say hammer down in April? My bad. I meant sleep a lot and just race instead of training. You know. Like you do. Also, I lost my garmin for a while, and if it's not on Strava it didn't happen. So April brought in only 345 miles, putting me at 2,082 for the year and 2,600 miles behind pace. Whomp whomp.

That being said, I'm done with road racing until July so maybe I'll actually be able to get out for some excessively long rides this month. If I can ever get off work, that is.

May's in the books. 460 miles on the road bike this month, putting me at 2,542 for the year. That's 2,996 behind pace, but I'm not worried because as I'm writing this post, my bike is in a box ready to go to Astoria, OR for the start of the 2017 Trans Am Bike Race. Assuming nothing goes catastrophically wrong, that's at least 4,200 miles in June. So that should be good.

Onward!

That's audacious! How many days are you hoping to cross it in?

19 would be nice.

DAMN. Best of luck.

Good luck with the race! That is quite impressive.

Unfortunately, I injured my left Achilles quite badly crossing the Idaho/Montana border and had to retire from the race about halfway through day 5. So that's the bad news. The good news is that the doctor I saw said that because I stopped early enough, with just a few weeks of taking it easy I should be back in business! The other good news is that in those few days I was able to add 880 miles and 39,970ft of climbing to my June total. I'm gonna take a bit, and see where we are at the end of the month.

I'm sorry your race was cut short. I am happy to hear you'll be back on the bike soon! I'm sure it must be hard to take any time off. If you want to help put our CL National Bike Challenge team over the top, I believe they would retrofit those miles into the challenge if you joined us again this year. ;-)

Again, good to hear you are ok with only a short-term set back. Congratulations on your accomplishment for those 880 miles with nearly 40k of climbing. Pretty amazing in such a short amount of time.

Thanks Yasmeen. Don't worry, I'm not letting those miles go to waste, they're logging on the Chainlink team NBC page. :) I believe we're 14th nationally right now!

Woot! Thanks so much! YES! We've been doing really well this year. :-)

That totally sux. I checked in on your progress last Monday (or was it Tuesday?), and you were at 618 miles and 40th place at the time. Sorry to hear about your Greek tragedy. Godspeed in your recovery.
