Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)
My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.
Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane
With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming
#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)
#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.
We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

Has anyone called 311? Is there anything that can be done after the fact? There is certainly no active enforcement. Heck, one cop on Franklin during the evening rush could easily write dozens of tickets. I've seen 2 to 5 violations in less than 10 minutes on my ride home. 'Sure sounds like a cash cow to me.
What's this doing in the bike lane? Getting tickets!
This morning in the new(ish) bike lanes on Blue Island in Pilsen. I called 311, got connected (annoyingly) to 911, made my report and within an hour these two cars had shiny new tickets affixed to their windows.
I should note that there were legal, unmetered street parking spaces available within 50 feet or less of each vehicle.
YES! These are the best to see. Hopefully this is a new trend?
Oy veh. What nimrods. I can only assume they had mechanical issues, although one could easily coast 50 feet to the open parking spot.
I can't remember when I took this screenshot... It looks like it was a report from IDOT. Cleaning off my desktop and opened it up. How ironic!
One time I was riding by here and a dude parked right in that spot. I stopped and asked him to move over into the open and legal parking spot. He told me where to go of course. Expressed his anger over the bike lane even being there. It was, of course, a big SUV. Due walked into the pet store that was there and I followed him inside asking him to move from the bike lane. Probably shouldn't do that but sometimes I do.
What's their reaction if you park your bike directly in front of them (especially if they can't put it in reverse)?
My guess is that it could get ugly very quickly. Bike vs. cab. Not quite a fair fight.
