My two photos (and rough plot) are at http://massup.us/now/c
I'd venture 20-30 turnout. Some quite good in the 4-7yo range, a few with training wheels, several tagalongs, several tandems. I rode my vintage folder for kicks and low speed, and made a few balloons. Perfect weather. Route took neighborhood streets, delaying cars a few times. Crossed several majors with corking and top-notch shepherds. We may be near anger-proof due to the parade of ducklings character, and day and time.  While instilling bold assertion and assumption of cyclist road use is important, I also yearn for maximally calm for base skills, or is that parent's homework?

Thanks! Christopher & I plan on coming tomorrow. He's a very new rider so I'm not sure if we'll make the whole three miles but we're both excited. = )

There is a parking lot on the south west corner of Clarendon and Sunnyside.  I assumed it is for the park though I went on bicycle and did not check the parking lot signage.  The park is on the east side of Clarendon.

If that doesn't work out, there is a tremendous amount of parking very close by at Montrose and the lakefront.  Parking at Chicago parks used to be free, though I don't drive and I imagine it could have changed since Daley started selling off the city.

I'm pretty sure you can find parking nearby. You may have to pay a meter but it will give you 2 hours.

Does anyone know if there is free parking in the area? I'd love to bring my son for this but we're out in the suburbs. He thought we could ride my bike with the tag-a-long there but that would take awhile. = )

Bringing my friend's daughter Annie. She loves riding and can't wait to get practice riding in the road. ;-)
