That's a lot of coins-- no wonder you were struggling!

I'm just in from a ride south from Lincoln Park to Little Village and definite wind from the south, much worse in open areas than narrower residential streets.

Man! it was brutal out there tonight. (Christmass eve.)  I was riding south from Rogers Park to Humbolt park, after a Christmass party.  I was fighting a suprisingly strong headwind. The snow and Ice were blowing into my face, and it was very cold.  I was bemoaning the fact that I had nothing to do on Christmas day.  I usualy go to Indiana to visit my mother, but she died earlier this year, and my father died  a long time ago.  All this was going through my mind, when, at the intersection of California and Milwauke, a homeless man flagged me down.  He was cold, and hungry and had no place to go.  He asked me for some money.  I realised that this man was having a much worse Christmas than I was.  I at least have a warm bed to sleep in.  I dug in my pocket and gave him every coin I had, about four bucks worth.  Then I continued on with my struggle South.

Not at all cold out there and really not all that slippery either (as judged by walking about 3 miles tonight.)

Most should be OK today (Thursday) as long as you can deal with teh sloppy.

Yes.

Streets better than fair this AM.

Yes.  Plenty of parking at my building...

The last 2 days have been lovely rides into work ... especially today. Barely any traffic, streets are salted, and nice crisp weather.

Hey, that loading dock looks familiar ... a couple more bikes in there by 8:30 (plus a few behind the strip curtain). I do appreciate how nice it is to have my pick of spaces after a spring/summer/fall of overloaded racks.

Yes.  I only park inside in the off-season.  Summer was nice over by the new racks at Board of Trade.

We do if your building has an Irish Pub, an Asian Noodle place, a Mexican fast food place, and a sandwich shop.
