Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Cycling is one mode — in a compact city like Boston, anyway — that can benefit from rethinking the commute ... Cyclists have been hitting the streets in force. Boston’s BlueBikes bike-share system announced in early September that it had recorded its highest-ever single-day ridership of more than 14,400 trips. And that could make roads safer for bikers by fostering a new understanding of and appreciation for riders among those who’ve tried out urban cycling and then gotten back behind the wheel.

ugh, now:

Winds W at 25 to 35 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 50 mph.

fight our way straight W then fly back? i got curious about One Lake Brewing when looking into almost-century options.

Intervals of clouds and sunshine. High 54F. Winds WSW at 15 to 25 mph.

15-25?! ride up and take the train back? unfortunately i'll be in a zoom until 10, leave after that?
