Put the kickstand back on, just to be different! Screw these kids and their convention. If you want a kickstand, then have one. Unfortunately, the fixed gear has become a fashion accessory much like a Gucci hand bag or Uggs. Of course neither of the aforementioned items have wheels or the ability to get you around town, at least not in the conventional sense. Kids just be hatin'!

OK FINE! I shed the kickstand recent, primarily in deference to fixie tradition, though I regularly find it impractical. I also removed bottle and lock holders, and must admit it feels slightly more sprightly.

This is intentionally a practical fixie. Since it's my primary ride, I couldn't be completely purist. So no fenders nor rack nor pump, but no kickstand was a big nuisance. More aware now of the weight of each item, I'm having to dismiss a touch of second thought that I should've started with a lighter frame. But the fundamental difference in drive is the key aspect of fixie. Minimalism and low weight are just common side-effects.

Nice Andrew! It looks like a 26 incher? And the kickstand will keep it dent and ding free. That it the first time I've seen a fixie with a kickstand though... =)
