The Chainlink

Steve Wolf (photographer) and myself (pictured) shutting down the Chicago Auto Show. We rendezvoused at Daley Plaza before riding to the show. The 9 bike cops assigned to our mission were uninspired by our numbers and departed early.

They put on a show but it didn't seem like there was much interest in seeing it. We camped out in front and there were so few people coming in on foot and almost no vehicles pulling in or even coming by. Felt like a ghost town out front compared to years past. I expect there may have been more folks in back in the big parking lot but we didn't bother to circle round there to find out for certain. On one news broadcast that night the reporter said the show was going well but I would be surprised if the attendance wasn't one of the lowest ever. Unfortunately they don't release attendance figures so it will be hard to know.

hey Todd, sorry you had such little support this year, but helmets off to you and Steve for carrying on the Auto Show Shutdown tradition.

Todd, thanks for representing at the shut-down, and for the great tunes at Northside Mass!
