    I think a meet-up bar is always a good idea. Since I'm in Lakeview and I'm familiar with it, I always like to recommend the Galway Bay Pub at Diversey and Pine Grove (despite the fact that the idea always gets shut down because the place is underground -literally- and somehow not cool enough for the cool people). It's about 4ish blocks from the Diversey entrance/exit on the path. In general, though, I'm sure if you pick a place and let everyone know where it is, the people will follow.
