    Good Times Last Night!
  • BalloonBiker

Right now I'm planning on both Critical Mass and the sledding. They are different nights, so it's okay!

hey michael! i've been eyeing that ride with anticipation for the past 2 weeks! i can't this week but reeeeeallly hope to join it next weds!! the seven will not disappoint! :)
  • Leah

hey there - sorry i missed the ride last night! it's tough for me to get out of work in time. i'll have to plan ahead and join up soon.
  • Craig S.

Holy shit! That's quite a route you posted last Friday. I spend a lot of time Lake Zurich/Long Grove/Deer Park and I see a lot of riders but I also know how insanely incompetent the drivers are. Is this a route you do often or did you make it up Friday? Also, I'm wanting an Edge 705, especially for RAGBRAI but I'm curious about battery run time and how long the charging cycle needs to be.
  • Craig S.

That's great! I know I've ridden that route many times with the go-fast racer dude rides years ago, when I was younger .... before kids ... before sailboat racing. I can't look at any more Garmin rides because I'll want one even more; charging devices on Ragbrai can be a problem even on my team's big bus.

Hey man, thanks for the offer of borrowing a temp front wheel. I am going to see if a wheel from a couple of bikes in my basement will work first but if not I'll hit you up. Thanks :)
  • Ryan L

Looks like the wheel I had in the basement fits perfectly. I recently gave it a complete over haul too so It's all good till I get a replacement made. thanks again for the offer :)

    Michael,

What's your favorite way to get to the NBT? I think you live just west of me.
  • Craig S.

Devon! Holy hell you have a death wish! I take Wilson west to anywhere west of Kimball, up to Lawrence west to Elston to Central north to Devon. Not a bad way to go, certainly easier than installing my rack on my car and not as dangerous as Devon. I was just wondering about any other routes to the NBT trail.

By the way, I rarely announce if I'm passing someone either. It ain't just novice cyclists that turn and look and veer.

Thanks Michael for the bike comp info. You got some nice rides my friends. Thinking about getting a Colnago Ace! Cheers!
  • Liz W. Durham

    Hey! How'd the race go?
  • Finch

Haha - no, not squeaking anymore! However, I was involved in an accident Sunday (not my fault, I think I'd be less annoyed if I had earned it) and I now have a radial head fracture. So no bike until the end of July. But I'll be back in the N.S. crit mass come August!
  • Finch

Thanks! Luckily, it's one of the "best" fractures you can get. Six weeks at the most and I'll be back out there. I'm just telling myself the daily work commute along the LSP is horrible in July anyway, and I'm saving myself the hassle, haha.
  • Noel Cunningham

michael, thanks again for chopping that u-lock off my bike last night. you're awesome.
  • MeganK

Thanks for the help on the ride. Hopefully you had fun despite the slow pace today!
  • Kelly C

Thanks for your expert help on fixing my flat during the architectural tour. And for letting me test drive your amazing bike!
  • Lynn

Are you doing the Swedish Days Ride? I am....doing the 100mile route.
  • Lynn

I have never done any CCC rides. How far and how fast do they go? What route do they take? I ride mostly northshore routes. Im also doing the Insane Terrain Ride next month. This will be my first time doing the Swedish Days Ride. Have you done this before? What's your take on it?
  • Lynn

It will be my first time doing the Swedish ride, I hear there is only 1 stop light. Mon night ride might be tough to get to. What about weekend rides? Any groups you would recommend?
