You have a great bike and rust removal is easy. I cleaned up a 58 year old similar bike and would be happy to share tips at your convenience.
First attempt`should be "Zep commercial stain remover". You can get it at Home Depot or most hardware stores. Use a brass brush, wear gloves, and test a spot first. This stuff is not as harsh as many options, but still do the work in a well-ventilated area. Rinse with water, dry then repaint. Automotive paint for big areas and Testors-type model paint for small spots. The cleaned metal needs to be painted or it will rust again quickly. I have more severe treatment options if thi fails you....cheers!
